Thanks to a generous grant from The California Endowment, Pillars of the Community interns worked with Isiah Jones from London Lane Productions to create a video survey of Southeast residents. Together as a team, we interviewed nearly 100 community members impacted by the criminal justice system. The question posed was,

“Have you or anyone in your family ever been incarcerated? If so, how did it impacted you and your family?”

Using these interviews we are able to create a community-rooted survey of the devastating and insidious impacts of our criminal justice system. Here are Southeast residents are speaking for themselves about the far-reaching effects of mass incarceration.
